I have found some situations where equip-level fan tags would be useful on AHUs. I imagine these would be very similar to hotWaterHeat, elecHeat, or chilledWaterCool, and would serve a similar purpose; that is, to indicate the presence of certain ahu sub-components.
My initial proposal for the tags are:
dischargeFan: Indicates that a unit has a fan in the discharge section.
returnFan: Indicates that a unit has a fan in the return section.
outsideFan: Indicates that a unit has a fan in the outside section.
exhaustFan: Indicates that a unit has a fan in the exhuast section.
Let me know your thoughts!

Just to be aware, there is a significant consensus that tags like "hotWaterHeat" are not a good idea and should be redesigned. I am not going to attempt summarize the issues because it requires a huge amount of background, but that is one focal point of WG 494.
So until we solve that, we should steer clear of minting more like them
Good deal. I've been loosely following that WG, and am excited about its traction. I'll wait until the changes from that WG have been finalized, and then form a new proposal if necessary. Thanks Brian.

WG 494 seems to be "closed"?
