#44 elecMeterLoad dynamic and static marker suggestions.

I suggest adding the following markers.

Dynamic and static or plug and weather

I understand all load is dynamic but I would like to differentiate loads that changes based on weather.

Plug load changes based on what is plugged but we don't have a way to find out what is plugged in right now.. So we can treat it as static.

Anybody has other suggestions for this.

The demand load profile is shaped by type of facility (residence, office, hotel, etc); the operating hours and/or habits of the occupants; the Building automation technology (occ sensors that shut off lighting and/or change set points and things like ice storage) and ambient conditions (temperature and humidity and sunrise/set).

In order to isolate demand changes based on ambient conditions one would have to store kWh per time period and weather (nearest station data), occupancy, whether setpoints can be modified by occupancy (NEST, smart zones or scheduling), and HVAC load.

It would be good to add a marker for correlation to weather.

The dynamic and static markers are very general generic terms.

I oppose using them here without further clarification of their intent.

They are not "intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer".

Raymond points out that the demand load profile is shaped by a lot if different influences.

Should we be considering a tag that declares correlation to a particular influence or group of influences?

correlationTo

ambientTemperature, ambientDewPoint, windDirection, windSpeed, ambientLightDark, ambientLightBright, occupancyLevel, productionLevel, productionType...

Then an app could be built to enhance the visualization of the correlation.

Or an app could discover or suggest the correlation...

This is exactly what I wanted to discuss. :)
