Does the nHaystack module encrypt the user/password fields passed between the Niagara and Haystack hosts?
Additionally, are there any plans for Haystack in general to support HTTPS?
I'm very new to all of this, but looking at a number of different applications. Several sites are going to push us towards a VPN solution if HTTPS is not an option. Just want to know what hardware I need to make this all kosher for the IT folks
Cheers

About the only thing that works reliably in Niagara today is Basic authentication, so I would highly recommend running over HTTPS. We have a proposal to standardize authentication using SCRAM /forum/topic/383, so once Niagara supports that will have much better solution for nHaystack auth
