I wanted to lay out some information and see if I might be able to drum up some support from the community. The DOE has an active project called "VOLTTRON" that is an open source data exchange similar to how Niagara and other BMS systems integrate today. It is a python based system with flexibility to be on the server side or embedded side of things.
They are currently working on setting a data naming model standard and I would like to see haystack make it's way in to the system as this project is maturing greatly!
Information on the project:
https://github.com/VOLTTRON/volttron/wiki
Need any assistance in building the enviroment on Ubuntu I can assist with that as well. Hope to hear some feedback and maybe get some more eyes on what I see as a great opportunity to expand the reach of Haystack and data collection as a whole.
