#236 Haystack for commissionning

Christian Tremblay Tue 9 Dec 2014

I would like your feedback on using Haystack to document points adding commissionning/startup information.

Example : HTG-O (heating output) -> heating cmd

What if I would like to add a kw tags with the power of the SCR commanded by this output ?

heating cmd kw:8 ?

What if I would like to add a tag which would inform user that output has been calibrated 8-13psi if pneumatic ?

heating cmd psiMin:8 psiMax:13 voltMin:3.4 voltMax:9.8 ?

Would it be best to use equip hierarchy ?

  • AHU (equipRef) -
    • SCR (equipRef)
      • HTG-O (heating cmd)
    • FAN (equipRef)
      • SF-S (sensor fan supply air)

And informative tags would be added to equip ?

Tagging this way seem more complicated as points have to be related to a specific equipment, wich is related to a global equipment... Will take more time than using only a simple AHU equipRef...

Thanks for your comments

I think that this would be very helpful on any system. One thing that I have noticed at my position, when there is money available to be spent, the support, design and construction crews need to know that information. Unfortunately it is usually stored local to the site. When we make decision to deploy a roll out of new VFD's, repair parts or supplies we spend a lot of resources just to get the information we need to purchase or replace the existing equipment. With that being in the data, it's a matter of mining out the values. Can we add a feature to show maybe basic nameplate data as well? If you're going for the equipment ref, why not { heating cmd psiMin:8 psiMax:13 voltMin:3.4 voltMax:9.8 manuFac:Kele manuModel:ucp-822a-pl supVend:AutomationDirect }
