Has there been any discussions about adding energy market tags such as $/kWh form the day-ahead and real-time markets, congestion, losses, rto/iso load forecast, grid conditions, demand response events, and so on?
Currently we are running haystack device points along side market information and it would seem like a nice fit for exchanging data between our systems.

No work has been done on that front that I am aware of. It is something would be great to have, but of course is a huge project. The ideal strategy would be to just define a Haystack mapping for some existing spec - for example I think some of that stuff is defined in Open-ADR.
