heatPump

Existing

Heat pump: An air handling equipment which employs a vapor compression cycle with a reversing valve to provide heating or cooling to a space. See AHUs chapter.

Proposed

Equipment that employs a vapor compression cycle with a reversing valve to provide heating or cooling. For vapor compression heating without a reversing valve, such as for a heat pump water heater, see dxHeating which should be used.

Notes

1. ASHRAE Terminology
2. Brick Heat Pump / Chiller (see gist link near bottom)
3. Make heatPump an "adjective" marker tag.
4. Create new heatPump-equip which subtypes from equip (for now).

Yes, this new language for a more generic definition is specifically from the VRF discussions
