#527 Unitary Equipment and AHUs

I just have a number of questions for clarification of the Unitary Equipment documentation and how they relate to AHUs.

  1. Should fcu or uv be used with the ahu tag, or in place of it?
    • If used instead of the ahu tag, why do we do this with fcu but not mau? They seem like different sides of the same coin - fcu has only return air, whereas mau has only outside air.
  2. How are uv equips different than rooftop AHUs?
    • The uv documentation states that unit ventilators "differ from FCUs in that they have direct access to outside air", implying that they have access to both return and outside air, and from the definition of Unitary Equips, "combines heating and/or cooling into packaged units". This looks the same as the definition of rooftop.
  3. A rooftop unit seems to match the definition of a Unitary Equip, so should it be included in that documentation?
  4. How is the dxCool tag on AHUs intended to be used alongside the rooftop and/or uv tags?
